While it is suggested to check your brake fluid every month or so, it is something we tend to overlook a lot. Our brakes are an important aspect of how our car works. In order to have brakes that work properly and efficiently, we need to make sure we have enough brake fluid. If you are unsure when you need to add more fluid to your car, here are four signs that will make it easier to tell when more fluid is necessary.
ABS Comes On
The most common way to know if you need more brake fluid is if your ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) light turn on. This light will usually come on if you need to replace or add more fluid in your car.
If you’re having a harder time than usual pushing down on your brake pedal, you might need to add more fluid to your car.
When you have low brake fluid it can affect your brake pads. Brake pads are essential to your car’s braking system, so having low brake fluid can cause brake pads to not work like they should.
If you don’t put brake fluid in your car, it can cause your brakes to be noisy. Not only is this annoying, it can also cause bigger problems in the long run.
